| | Husband-Coached ChildbirthR was originated by Dr. Robert Bradley, a Colorado obstetrician, because he believed that unmedicated birth was the healthiest option for most mothers and babies. He began by teaching women skills and techniques that prepared them for birth and lessened their discomfort, and he sat faithfully with his patients as they birthed their babies in joy and complete consciousness. But before long Dr. Bradley realized that instead of himself acting as Coach to every patient, he should train fathers to support and encourage their wives as they labor and birth their baby, thereby strengthening the family's bond of love.
The Bradley MethodR has helped thousands of families to become more informed about the process of birth and their choices. And more than 86% of couples trained in The Bradley MethodR go on to have spontaneous, unmedicated childbirths!
